Fiddler’s Hideout by Katie Norman

OSA Editorial Team

Today's feature comes from Katie Norman, a Third Year student in Unit J

"Fiddler’s Hideout is a handmade treehouse for Sam and Suzy, the protagonists of Wes Anderson’s 2012 film, Moonrise Kingdom. Having escaped to Oxford, the pair construct a treehouse on Fiddler’s Island in Port Meadow, using Sam’s knowledge of scouting techniques and built with found materials. The elevated cabin provides a sanctuary for them and their favourite activities from reading to cooking and planning adventures. The canvas clad, wooden structure is off-the-grid and accessed using a series of pulley systems."
