Algae in Architecture by Rada Daleva

OSA Editorial Team

Today we are featuring work by Rada Daleva from her second year undergraduate project.

Speculative designs exploring the potential use of algae in our future designs. The projects propose a symbiotic relationship between human and nature where humans release carbon dioxide which is captured by the mico-algae and used to release energy and light which in terms powers the building. Algorithmic and computational design methods were adopted to simulate  the natural growth of algae and were applied to the design of the structures.
